Last district votes in U.K. general election

Voters in an English district are getting a delayed opportunity to choose their representative in Parliament.
The national election was held May 6, but was postponed in the Thirsk and Malton district in northern England because of the death of one of the candidates _ John Boakes of the U.K. Independence Party.
Anne McIntosh of the Conservative Party is considered the front-runner.
However, the result of Thursday's election will have no effect on the balance of power in the House of Commons. The Conservatives won the most seats on May 6, but not a majority, and they now lead a governing coalition with the Liberal Democrats.
