Czech Republic closes part of its air space

The Czech Republic is closing its air space as the enormous cloud of volcanic ash drifting from Iceland is disrupting air traffic across the continent.
The country's Air Navigation Services says the air space over the northwest part of the country was closed Friday at 10 a.m. (0800 GMT).
The aviation authority says it plans to shut down all Czech air space by 1 p.m. (11 GMT) starting with Prague's Ruzyne International Airport at noon (1000 GMT).
It is not clear when it will be reopened.
