TP Mazembe survives second round scare

Defending champion TP Mazembe survived a second round scare in the African Champions League, edging Rwanda's APR 2-1 on aggregate after a 2-0 second leg win.

Former winners ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast were eliminated following a 1-1 draw with Zambia's Zanaco in Abidjan. Zanaco won the two-leg series 2-1 on aggregate scores.
Mali champions Djoliba AC beat Senegal's ASC Linguere 4-3 on penalties Monday after their tie ended 1-1.
Angola's Petro Atletico Luanda, Dynamos of Zimbabwe, Sudan's Al Hilal and Nigerian club Heartland FC also reached the third round. 2009 finalists Heartland advanced on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate draw with Tiko United.
