The skirmish of Ma-Tsai debate was held in CtiTV, featuring the rivalry of blue-green competition.

The opposition DPP representatives yesterday lambasted its KMT counterpart for only taking care of enterprises and conglomerates, while ignoring the negative impacts on domestic job market in the planned ECFA with China, according to Liberty Times report.

Huang Zhi-peng, the head of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, emphasized that agricultural products are excluded from the list of early harvest, adding that the government will never allow China workers to enter domestic market, at the skirmish of Ma-Tsai debate held by CtiTV yesterday.

Kuo Jeng-liang, a former DPP legislator, noted the ECFA with China cannot solve the unemployment problems in Taiwan. After opening the service industry for the communist neighbor, China workers with similar cultural background and lower salary will by all means replace domestic employees.

Honigmann Hong, the associate research fellow of Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, also noted that China capitals, as approved in the proposed economic accord, will be operated by Chinese personnel. Therefore, no competition from China counterparts is a pie in the sky.

In response to the accusation, Lai Shyh-bao, the KMT Legislator, said that the government will never neglect the interests of minorities, adding that an exit strategy exists under the framework of WTO once the economic agreement is not as good as expected.
