US stock futures rise, point to higher opening

U.S. stock futures are rising following a jobs report that has boosted expectations for an economic recovery.
The Labor Department says employers added 162,000 jobs in March. It was the biggest gain since the recession began in December 2007. But it still falls short of the 190,000 new jobs economists predicted.
A private trade group's measure of the service sector is due out later Monday. It is expected to show faster growth.
Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 34, or 0.3 percent, at 10,894. Standard & Poor's 500 index futures are up 2.60, or 0.2 percent, at 1,176.30, while Nasdaq 100 index futures are up 10.75, or 0.6 percent, at 1,962.75.
The stock market was closed Friday, so investors could not trade based on the report before the weekend.
