Allianz Taiwan raises funds for dementia seniors

Allianz Taiwan Life Insurance Company and the Catholic Foundation of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia (CFAD) recently held a fundraising activity for senior citizens who suffer from dementia. This event that began April 1 will run to August 31.
Chris James, President and CEO of Allianz Taiwan Life Insurance Co., encouraged young people to dance to the song named "You Are My Flower" with their grandparents because this exercise could help the elderly boost their mental power.
Allianz Taiwan sponsored the production of health education DVDs called Brain Exercises, launched a fun contest of "LOHAS Seniors A Go Go" videos and donated special Allianz Taiwan teddy bears to be auctioned off on the Yahoo! Kimo portal site to raise funds for dementia seniors.
To raise social awareness about Alzheimer's, Allianz Taiwan has been supporting fundraising events in collaboration with the Taipei-based CFAD since 2006. The number of donations that more than 4,000 people had made over the past four years exceeded a total of NT$13 million. The foundation used the funds to provide the dementia elderly with daycare, nursing care and free meal delivery service.
It is the first time for popular TV star Eddie Peng to act as spokesperson for this charitable event and he called on young people to get involved in this activity and to learn more about dementia.
