Taipei Indigenous Peoples Commission to add subsidy for women in hardship

Taipei Indigenous Peoples Commission (TIPC) Sunday announced more subsidies allocated for indigenous women in hardships, in an effort to relieve their burden.

Aboriginal women in difficulties will receive rent subsidies as much as NT$3,600 every household per month from previous NT$1,500; mental treatment subsidies of NT$1,500 per hour from previous NT$1,000, namely, NT$30,000 per person every year as maximum, showing an increase of NT$10,000.

Applicants eligible for subsidies include single mothers that raise minors alone, those who need to switch to another line of business from special trades, who suffer domestic violence, and whose husband is dead, in jail or disappears, said TIPC.

The above subsidies are allocated grounded on the newly revised 2010 Implementation of Assistance for Indigenous Women. Please call the Citizen Hotline 1999 and transfer 2018 for application.
