Tomas Berdych advanced to the final of the Sony Ericsson Open by beating Sweden's Robin Soderling 6-2, 6-2 on Friday.
Berdych, who eliminated top-ranked Roger Federer in the fourth round, broke serve four times and faced only one break point against Soderling.
The 6-foot-5 (1.96-meter) Berdych will play Andy Roddick in the final after the American beat Rafael Nadal 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the first semifinal.
Berdych's only other Masters 1000 final was in 2005, when he won the Paris title. Ranked 20th, the Czech can become the first Key Biscayne men's champion not ranked in the top 10 since Jim Courier in 1991.
