Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves hit US$355 billion

Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves climbed to a record high US$355 billion at the end of March, up US$2.31 billion from the previous month, the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) said yesterday.
The bank attributed the increase of forex reserve growth in March mainly to returns on foreign exchange reserve investments.
Taiwan remained the world's fourth largest foreign exchange holder, trailing China (US$2.4 trillion as of December 2009), Japan (US$998.7 billion in February) , and Russia (US$402.8 billion in February).
