Swiss police: asylum seeker dies at airport

Swiss police say a Nigerian asylum seeker died at Zurich airport as he was being forced to board a plane for deportation back to his home country.
Zurich police say the 29-year-old man died Wednesday after being shackled to go on the plane with 15 other Nigerians whose asylum bids had been rejected.
Police said in a statement Thursday they had to use force to shackle the man because he refused to board the plane. The shackles were taken off and an emergency doctor tried to save the man's life when he suddenly showed health problems.
He had been on hunger strike for several days.
Swiss authorities have canceled all forced deportation flights pending an inquiry. Amnesty International says it was the third such death in Switzerland since 1999.
