IOC, USOC begin talks on improving relations

U.S. and international Olympic leaders have opened discussions on improving relations and settling the financial issues that have isolated the Americans from the rest of the Olympic movement.
U.S. Olympic Committee president Larry Probst and new chief executive officer Scott Blackmun met Monday with International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge and other officials to begin the new dialogue.
IOC spokesman Mark Adams called it a "good, friendly and positive meeting."
USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky said the talks were "very friendly, very positive."
The USOC's troubled standing in the international Olympic world was brought home by Chicago's humiliating first-round defeat in October in the IOC vote for the 2016 Games.
