McMorris wins World Cup slopestyle event

Canada's Marc McMorris won gold at the first snowboard World Cup slopestyle event held in his country.
McMorris scored 45.1 points Saturday in his first of two runs to take the top of the podium ahead of Belgium's Seppe Smits in second with 42.9 points and Nick Brown of New Zealand in third.
"It's definitely the best feeling ever. I've never won a world-class event like this. It's a dream," McMorris said.
In the women's event, Sina Candrian of Switzerland won gold with 45.4 points ahead of Canadians Brooke Voight and Alexandra Duckworth.
"I was looking forward to this World Cup here in Calgary. Now that I won it, it's just delicious," said Candrian.
Voigt took silver with 39.2 points, while Duckworth won bronze with 34.5 points.
