Napoli miss chance to move third

Napoli drew 0-0 at home to Genoa and missed the chance to go third in the Serie A table on Saturday.
Paolo Cannavaro hit the bar from long range at the end of the first half and German Denis missed two excellent chances to score for Napoli, while Genoa's Domenico Criscito went closest with a freekick.
Napoli remain fourth, level on 38 points with AS Roma, which was playing Siena on Sunday. Genoa meanwhile move up one place to eighth.
"We just missed the conclusion of our work," Cannavaro said. "All we lacked was a goal to round off all our good work in midfield.
"It was a shame I hit the bar," he said, "because the way Genoa play we weren't going to get many chances."
In the other match Bari took the three points from a high scoring game at home to Palermo. Bari took a 2-0 lead early on through Leonardo Bonucci and Edgar Alvarez, but Edinson Cavani pulled one back before halftime and Javier Pastore drew the Sicilians level early in the second half.
After Palermo's Fabio Liverani was sent off in the 53rd Bari fought back. Paulo Barreto scored a penalty before Vladimir Koman sealed the result in the 84th.
The result moves Bari to seventh, one place out of the Europa League qualification places on 32 points, while Palermo stays fifth with 34.
"It was important we won and this is an important three points for us," Alvarez said. "Our first objective this season was to avoid relegation, but if we had the chance of doing something, then we knew we had to take it."
Genoa had the first chance of the game following a frenetic start. Criscito fired in a freekick that Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis hurriedly pushed away.
In the 26th Denis found space behind the Genoa back three, but shot high and wide.
With two minutes remaining in the opening period Cannavaro carried the ball from defense, exchanged passes with Denis, but hit the bar with his shot from the edge of the area.
Three minutes into the second half Denis squandered another chance. Marek put him clear in the box, but Genoa custodian Marco Amelia rushed off his line to smother the effort.
With two minutes remaining striker Fabio Quagliarella headed wide with a header from the edge of the area.
Bari took the lead in the fifth when Bonucci spun and volleyed home from the edge of the area. Two minutes later Alvarez took advantage of a mistake by Liverani to double Bari's lead.
Palermo began to come back into the match and in the 13th Fabio Miccoli hit the bar from a freekick.
In the 28th Cavani pulled one back for Palermo, sliding in to score from Federico Balzaretti's low cross.
Pastore drew Palermo level in the 53rd when he rounded Alessandro Gazzi on the edge of the area and curled a shot past Bari stopper Jean Gillet.
Three minutes later though Liverani was sent off for a second yellow card.
In the 62nd Andrea Masiello was brought down by Cristian Melinte and Barreto stepped up to score his 11th goal of the season from the penalty spot.
Six minutes from time Koman completed the scoring when he swept the ball past Salvatore Sirigu after Alvarez and Barreto had linked up to put him in space.
