Tottenham has signed Younes Kaboul for the second time after taking the French defender from Premier League struggler Portsmouth.
Kaboul performed well in his 17 months with Portsmouth after initially failing to impress with Spurs, but Pompey needed to sell because of its financial problems.
Portsmouth is last in the standings and has been struggling to pay off debts relating to player transfers. It has also failed to pay players on time several times this season.
Neither club confirmed the transfer fee.
Kaboul follows Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch in returning to Tottenham after spells with Portsmouth. Niko Kranjcar has also left Pompey for Spurs this season.
