Zoeggeler wins 9th title

Armin Zoeggeler won his ninth World Cup luge title with victory in a World Cup competition on the track where he won the 2006 Olympic gold, Saturday.
The double Olympic champion finished with the fastest time of one minute, 43.115 seconds after runs of 51.611 seconds and 51.504 seconds for his 49th World Cup race win.
The 36-year-old Zoeggeler now needs one more World Cup title to draw level with Austria's Markus Prock, who holds the all-time record of 10.
The victory puts the Italian out of reach at the top of the World Cup standings with 705 points, ahead of Albert Demchenko of Russia in second on 534, with Germany's Felix Loch third with 484.
Loch finished second behind Zoggeler on Saturday with 1.43.434, with fellow German Johannes Ludwig third having recorded a total time of 1.43.493.
