Reports: Russia in euro1.3B arms contract with Libya

Russian news agencies have reported that Moscow has signed an arms deal with Libya worth euro1.3 billion ($1.8 billion).
The reports by the state agencies ITAR-Tass and RIA Novosti say Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced the contract Saturday at a meeting with the head of Izhmash, which makes assault rifles, machine guns and other weapons.
According to the reports, Putin said the contract was "not only for small arms and light weapons," but there were no further specifics.
The reports say the contract was signed Friday, after a visit to Moscow earlier in the week by Libyan Defense Minister Major Gen. Younis Jaber.
RIA Novosti says Russia already had five active military contracts with Libya.
