Airbus hikes aircraft prices by 5.8 percent

Airbus said on Friday it has hiked the list price of all its aircraft by 5.8 percent, blaming the first such increase in two years on a strong euro.
"We have tried to keep prices down for as long as we can," Airbus chief operating officer John Leahy said in a statement.
"However, even with record aircraft deliveries and impressive orders in recent years, the continuing strength of the Euro against the U.S. Dollar and the ongoing financial challenges ahead have forced us to take action," he said.
The price hike reflected a weaker U.S. dollar as well as the increased cost of materials and commodities, the company said.
