Maria Riesch wins World Cup downhill, Vonn 5th

Maria Riesch of Germany won a World Cup downhill race Saturday, ending Lindsey Vonn's perfect streak this season in the glamor speed event.
Riesch timed 1 minute, 41.31 seconds on the Corviglia piste to close the gap on Vonn in the overall World Cup standings.
Vonn had won the first five downhills of the season but finished fifth, 1.21 seconds behind.
The American lost speed when almost losing her balance after her skis struck a hole in the snow.
Ingrid Jacquemod of France was second, 0.79 behind Riesch, and Switzerland's Fabienne Suter trailed by 0.96 in third.
The result was unofficial because some lower ranked skiers had still to race.
