Hong Kong apartment building collapses, 3 killed

A half-century old apartment building in Hong Kong collapsed Friday, killing three people and trapping another two in its five stories of rubble.
Rescuers found a 40-year-old woman shortly after the low-rise in Kowloon peninsula tumbled, but she died before reaching the hospital, the Hong Kong government said in a statement. The bodies of two men were pulled from the debris later Friday. Two others remain missing.
Another two residents escaped with light injuries.
Officials also evacuated two neighboring buildings it said were also unsafe. Officials ordered a territory-wide inspection of buildings 50 years or older. It wasn't immediately clear how many there were in this Chinese city of 7 million people crammed with skyscrapers.
Hong Kong leader Donald Tsang told reporters the building that tumbled Friday may have been poorly maintained.
