Injured Chinese deckhand rushed to Keelung for treatment

Taipei, Jan. 29 (CNA) A Chinese deckhand working aboard a Taiwanese fishing boat who was injured in an accident Friday was rescued by a Coast Guard Administration (CGA) patrol vessel and rushed to a hospital in Keelung City for treatment.
The crewman, identified as Huang Wenxian, was hit in his gut by a swaying cable while the fishing boat, the Suao-based Fudafeng No. 22, was operating in the Pengchiayu fishing area to Keelung's northeast Friday afternoon, according to the CGA.
After receiving an S-O-S signal, the CGA patrol vessel the Keelung, sped to the fishing boat's aid.
Braving strong winds and heavy seas, the Keelung was able to take Huang and a colleague looking after him, another Chinese identified as Lu Shuxing, on board and ferried them to Keelung Harbor.
They were then whisked to Keelung General Hospital for treatment.
Huang, whose injuries were not life-threatening, has been put under observation at the hospital.
