Dog rescued from sea at home on saviors' ship

A dog rescued from the Baltic Sea after braving a long journey on an ice floe is making himself at home on the Polish ship that rescued him this week.
Jerzy Wosachlo, captain of the Baltica research ship that plucked the animal from the icy sea said Friday the dog slept on a blanket in the ship's laboratory and then shared a sausage breakfast with the crew. He said the dog was staying close to the sailor who saved him.
The thick-furred male dog was spotted adrift on Monday, 15 miles (24 kilometers) out in the Baltic Sea and was rescued by the crew of the Baltica.
The ship is now in Gdynia port and the crew received a letter of praise from President Lech Kaczynski.
