Bomb hits NATO convoy en route to Afghanistan

A bomb in northwest Pakistan has destroyed a truck carrying oil supplies to the NATO mission across the border in Afghanistan.
Government official Javed Khan says no one was injured in the attack Friday in the fabled Khyber Pass.
Much of the non-lethal supplies for American and NATO forces in Afghanistan are trucked through Pakistan.
Militants occasionally attack the trucks, but the strikes do not affect operations in Afghanistan.
Russia has allowed supply routes from the north to supplement the main route through the Khyber Pass after it increasingly has been targeted by militants. The Soviet Union fought a disastrous 10-year war in Afghanistan before withdrawing in 1989.
