Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Tropical Cyclone Olga will continue to dump precipitation over northeastern Australia and excessive rain could cause widespread flooding throughout the region.
Elsewhere in Australia, a few showers are possible over the eastern coast, but the interior will remain dry. New Zealand will also see some wet weather Saturday, particularly South Island.
High pressure will begin to build over eastern Asia, bringing clear skies and less precipitation to the region.
A weak cold front will stick to the Chinese coast just north of Hong Kong, triggering showers and thunderstorms. Taiwan is expected to see wet weather as well.
Japan will endure precipitation Saturday as west winds pick up moisture from the Sea of Japan. Snow is most likely in the higher elevations of northern Japan.
Southeast Asia will see generally dry conditions south to Malaysia where tropical downpours will begin to pick up. Much of Indonesia will experience rainy weather with thunderstorms.
