Allenby best on toughest course at FI Open

Scott Piercy's name is atop the leaderboard at the Farmers Insurance Open after an 8-under 64 on the North Course of Torrey Pines. The best round might have belonged to Robert Allenby.
Allenby, who has two wins and a runner-up finish in his last three starts, had a bogey-free 67 on a course built for the U.S. Open, making him the only player among the top 15 to play the South Course.
Piercy had a one-shot lead over Ben Crane, Chris Tidland, Ryuji Imada and Matt Every, all of whom played the easier North Course.
Phil Mickelson made his 2010 debut on the South and played conservatively on his way to a 70.
