Atletico beats Celta to advance in cup; Getafe too

Atletico Madrid beat second-division Celta Vigo 1-0 to reach the Copa del Rey semifinals on Thursday, when Getafe also advanced despite losing to Mallorca 1-0.
Diego Forlan stole the ball away from defender Francisco Noguerol in the 26th minute before speeding in on goal to tuck a low shot past goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez to put Atletico through 2-1 on aggregate after two legs.
Celta had its chances, with Roberto Trashorras' free kick saved by 'keeper David De Gea moments, while Jose Luis Mato headed off the crossbar in the 84th before turning another chance wide in injury time.
Atletico will face Racing Santander, which beat Osasuna 3-0 on Wednesday to advance 5-1 overall.
Earlier, Getafe advanced to its third semifinal in four years on away goals after their series' finished 2-2 on aggregate.
Aritz Aduritz made up for an earlier penalty miss with a headed goal in the 45th minute to even the series, but Getafe's two away goals from the first leg were enough.
Getafe will play Sevilla in a rematch of the 2007 final, which Sevilla won.
Getafe goalkeeper Oscar Ustari stopped Aduritz's penalty on the half hour but couldn't stop the Basque striker's header two minutes into first-half stoppage time as he got high over his marker to turn in the corner kick.
Sevilla beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-1 on aggregate despite a 1-0 defeat on Wednesday.
