Clinton, other foreign leaders question Nigeria

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other foreign leaders have sent an open letter to Nigeria over the long absence of its president.
The letter, issued from London during a meeting on Afghanistan, described Nigeria as being in a "period of uncertainty." It urges leaders to adhere to its constitution.
Clinton signed the letter with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and European Union High Representative Catherine Ashton.
President Umaru Yar'Adua left the nation in late November to head to a Saudi Arabian hospital for treatment of what his doctor says is a heart condition. He has yet to return and didn't empower Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to act in his absence, sparking fears of a constitutional crisis.
