Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

A low pressure system over the Sea of Japan will cause scattered showers over most of Japan and the Korean peninsula Tuesday. Tokyo will be rainy with highs in the upper 40s Fahrenheit (9 Celsius). Seoul will see a few lingering clouds with highs near 20 F (-6 C) as drier air starts to pour in from the northwest.
High pressure will push cold and dry air over China, creating a cold front that will stretch over most of the coastal areas. Fed by moisture from the South and East China seas, these areas will see scattered showers diminishing by midday. Hong Kong will see a few lingering clouds with highs in the mid-60s F (upper teens C).
Mostly sunny skies and dry conditions will persist in northern China. Beijing will be sunny with highs near the mid-teens F (-10 C), and Shanghai will be sunny with highs near 40 F (4 C).
In Australia, high pressure will build into the Great Australian Bight as a low pressure system spins over the northwest. This will pull moisture in from the north and spread scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Northern Territory and northern Western Australia. The system will create a front that will extend into South Australia and kick up scattered showers throughout the day. The east, however, will remain under high pressure, and plenty of sunshine is expected in Sydney with highs in the 90s F (low 30s C).
