Nigerian spent 2 weeks in Ghana before US flight

Ghana says the Nigerian man suspected of trying to blow up a U.S. airliner spent nearly two weeks in the West African nation before beginning his journey to the U.S. and did not behave suspiciously while there.
Ghana's Deputy Information Minister James Agyenim-Boateng says Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab arrived in the capital Accra on Dec. 9.
Agyenim-Boateng said Monday the 23-year-old Nigerian had arrived on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Dubai which passed through the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. He left Accra 13 days later on Dec. 24 for Lagos, Nigeria.
Abdulmutallab is at a federal prison in Milan, Michigan, and faces a court hearing on Friday. He allegedly tried to set off an explosive device on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day.
