England declared their first innings with a lead of 232 runs over South Africa on the fourth day of the second test at the Kingsmead Stadium on Tuesday, and then built on the advantage by taking two wickets before tea.
South Africa limped to the break on 37 for two wickets, still 195 runs behind.
