Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Snowy conditions will persist in countries surrounding the Sea of Japan on Wednesday.
A strong low pressure system will continue strengthening as it moves over the Korean peninsula and into the Sea of Japan from northeastern China. The cold front will pick up ample moisture before pushing into western and northern Japan.
Cool temperatures will result in snow in Seoul with a temperature of -4 degrees Celsius, while Tokyo will see cloudy skies and highs in the mid-teens C.
High pressure will continue building over China and bring mild weather.
Expect sunny skies over Beijing and Shanghai with a high of -4 C and 6 C, respectively. A lingering front will continue picking up moisture from the South China Sea and spread scattered showers over the southern coast.
Hong Kong will see light rain throughout the day with highs in the upper teens C.
In Australia, a high pressure system will build in the Great Australian Bight, and low pressure will hover over the western half of the country. A ridge of high pressure will extend along most of the east coast.
Widespread scattered showers will hit Queensland and stretch into northern New South Wales. Sydney will see a break in wet weather with only a few lingering clouds and highs in the lower 20s C.
