Niger's gov't says gunmen kill 3 Saudi tourists

Niger's government spokesman says gunmen have shot dead three tourists from Saudi Arabia in an attack near the country's border with Mali.
Mamane Kassoum Moktar says three other Saudi citizens were also wounded in the attack.
Moktar told The Associated Press on Monday that security forces have been deployed to track down the unidentified attackers.
It was not clear what sparked the violence, but local insurgents, bandits and members of al-Qaida's Algeria-based North Africa branch are believed to be active in the remote deserts near the Mali frontier.
