Guinea's No. 2 leader has traveled to Morocco to visit the nation's wounded coup chief for the first time since the leader was shot earlier this month.
State television journalist Mamadou Barry told The Associated Press that Gen. Sekouba Konate flew out of Conakry on Monday for the trip, which was announced by state media a day earlier.
Konate was expected in Rabat to visit junta leader Capt. Moussa "Dadis" Camara, the state of whose health has remained unknown since he was shot in the head by an aide in an assassination attempt Dec. 3. and airlifted to a Moroccan military hospital.
