Germany's Henkel AG, the maker of Persil detergent and Loctite adhesive, said its third-quarter sales dipped slightly along with its operating profit.
Henkel, based in Duesseldorf, said late Wednesday that according to preliminary figures revenue in the July-September period will be approximately ⁈llion ($5.2 billion), compared with nearly ⁈llion a year earlier.
The company said that its operating profit was ⁈llion, which included one-time restructuring charges of ⁈lion.
Henkel did not say what its net profit was but is scheduled to release a full earnings report Nov. 11.
"We outperformed market expectations for our earnings development in the third quarter," Chief Executive Kasper Rorsted said in a statement.
"However, it can not be expected to again achieve the strong past quarter results in the fourth quarter," he said.
