US officials arrive to coup-torn Honduras

A delegation led by a senior U.S. official has arrived in coup-torn Honduras to push both sides to resolve a crisis that threatens to undermine November presidential elections.
Talks between representatives of the interim government and supporters of ousted President Manuel Zelaya are stalled over a key point _ allowing Zelaya to be reinstated.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs and Tom Shannon did not speak to reporters before heading into meetings Wednesday. He is leading the U.S. delegation.
The U.S. and other nations want Zelaya returned to office.
The interim government says soldiers removed Zelaya June 28 after he defied a court order to cancel a referendum on rewriting the constitution.
