Bosnian Serb prime minister says former president Biljana Plavsic will stay out of politics after her release from a Swedish jail where she served a war crimes sentence.
Plavsic pleaded guilty and was sentenced in 2003 by a U.N. court to 11 years in prison for her role in Bosnia's 1992-95 war.
She is only woman sentenced by the tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands. Plavsic was released Tuesday after serving two-thirds of the sentence.
Bosnian Serb Prime Minister Milorad Dodik on Wednesday defended his decision to send a government jet to Sweden to pick up Plavsic, whose release has angered Bosnia's Muslims.
Dodik says "it was a moral thing to do." He says Plavsic will remain in Belgrade for now and stay out of political life.
