Authorities say they have issued arrest warrants against two men suspected in last week's kidnapping of a German doctor who was snatched, beaten, tied up and dropped outside a French courthouse.
Prosecutors in the southern German city of Kempten say they are seeking the arrest of 72-year-old Frenchman Andre Bamberski as well as a 38-year-old man from Kosovo who is in police custody in Austria.
Dr. Dieter Krombach turned up, tied up, near the courthouse in the eastern French city of Mulhouse at 4 a.m. on Oct. 18.
The Kosovo man turned himself in to Austrian police two days later.
Prosecutors say Bamberski is suspected of working with the Kosovo man on the kidnapping. French authorities are also investigating.
