Re-Stalinization of subway station sparks debate

A Moscow subway station is the newest focus of a bitter dispute over Russia's history and the legacy of Soviet leader Josef Stalin.
Critics were outraged when old Soviet national anthem lyrics praising Stalin were restored to a rotunda in the Kurskaya station during renovations this summer.
Now there is talk of putting a statue of the dictator near to where one used to stand before.
Moscow's chief architect says he raised the idea last week out of a desire for historical accuracy.
But opponents say it is part of a campaign to rehabilitate Stalin and hold up his iron-handed rule as an example for Russia today.
