Yemeni court sentences 4 Shiite rebels to death

A Yemeni court has convicted 15 Shiite rebels of taking up arms against the government and sentenced four of them to death.
The sentencing comes at the end of a trial that is part of a series of proceedings against suspected rebels from the Saada province. The remaining 11 suspects got between four and 15 years in prison.
Yemen has been embroiled in a five-year conflict with Saada's Shiite fighters, whose leaders accuse the government of neglect and allying with hard-line Sunni fundamentalists, some of whom consider Shiites as heretics.
Fighting intensified since August, displacing tens of thousands and limiting their access to humanitarian aid.
Tuesday's sentences bring to 28 the number of those facing execution for the rebellion.
