Kurd group seeks peace in Turkey

A Kurdish lawmaker says a small group of Kurdish rebels plans to cross into Turkey from havens in northern Iraq to support government plans for peace.
Kurdish lawmaker Sabahat Tuncel says 34 Kurds will cross the border on Monday. Eight are rebels and the rest are noncombatants, including children.
The Anatolia news agency says authorities have set up tents near the Habur border gate where prosecutors can question the group.
The government has been working on an initiative to end the conflict with thousands of rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.
The rebels have been fighting since 1984 for autonomy for Turkey's Kurds.
