Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Tropical Storm Parma will weaken into tropical depression strength after it tracks over Hainan late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.
Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds will continue to develop with the passing of this system, while dangerous surf conditions are expected to persist in the surrounding waters.
After making landfall on Hainan, the system will progress westward through the Gulf of Tonkin and make landfall with northern Vietnam near Hai Phong at tropical depression strength. Expect heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and dangerous winds and surf to accompany the system.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Nepartak, located southeast of the Chichi-jima, Japan, is not expected to make landfall on Tuesday. Nepartak will continue to curve northeastward into the western Pacific and is expected to weaken during its progression over the next few days.
Elsewhere, a trough of low pressure will dip into the northern half of Japan on Tuesday, producing breezy and wet weather throughout the day. Fair weather is expected throughout the Korean Peninsula as the affects of this trough will not reach into the region.
Finally, fresh easterly winds will combine with moisture from Tropical Storm Parma produce a swath of cloudy and showery weather throughout much of eastern China.
In Australia, a low pressure system in the western Great Australian Bight will become situated in between Tasmania and Victoria on Tuesday. Light to moderate showers are expected to spread throughout Victoria and into the southern regions of New South Wales. The remainder of the country will experience dry and tranquil weather activity.
