EMBA alliance plans to launch cross-strait business leaders forum

Taipei, Oct. 6 (CNA) Eight Taiwanese universities that provide Executive MBAs (EMBAs) announced Tuesday the formation of an alliance to promote intercampus course exchange.
The alliance will also seek cooperation with Chinese universities -- including Xiamen University, Fudan University, Peking University and Nanjing University -- to launch a cross-Taiwan Strait business leaders forum, said Yang Chien-min, CEO of National Chengchi University's (NCCU's) EMBA program.
Other members of the EMBA Education Alliance are National Sun Yat-sen University, National Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, National Cheng Kung University, National Central University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Chung Cheng University.
According to Yang, hi-tech management, management of small- and medium-sized businesses, "refined living, " digital content and cultural creativity are areas in which Taiwan holds an advantage, and integration of the existing resources is essential to enhancing their value.
With this in mind, NCCU will launch a high-level business leader program in October that will offer three sub groups -- global entrepreneurship; cultural creativity, hi-tech management and information application; and international finance -- Yang said.
A total of 78 openings will be available, open to people with at least 12 years of work experience, he said.
