Rangers beats Celtic 2-1 in Scottish League

Kenny Miller fired two early goals as Rangers beat Celtic 2-1 on Sunday to move within one point of its traditional rival at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Although Aiden McGeady replied from the penalty spot after a foul on debutant China striker Zheng Zhi, Rangers held on for the three points at Ibrox Park.
After its first league defeat of the season, Celtic has 16 points from seven games and Rangers 15 with Hibernian third on 13.
Miller gave Rangers an eighth minute lead when he collected Kris Boyd's short pass and held off two defenders before shooting home.
Eight minutes later, Celtic failed to deal with a long clearance from Rangers 'keeper Allan McGregor and Miller got free to fire the second.
Making a long awaited debut after finally receiving international clearance and obtaining a work permit, Zheng dribbed into the area in the 25th minute and was brought down by Sasa Papac. Although McGregor got a hand to McGeady's penalty kick, the ball went inside the post.
Hibernian drew 1-1 with Dundee United on Saturday. Also Saturday, St. Johnstone won at Hamilton 2-0, Motherwell beat Falkirk 1-0, St. Mirren beat Hearts 2-1, and Kilmarnock and Aberdeen drew 1-1.
