Copenhagen: climate activists plan plant shutdown

Organizers say 1,500 climate activists are protesting in Copenhagen against the use of fossil fuels and plan to shut down a coal-firing plant.
Police spokesman Flemming Steen Munch says the demonstrators are peacefully marching toward the Vattenfall-owned power plant on Amager Island.
Shut It Down spokeswoman Tannie Nyboe says some protesters on Saturday will try to close down the plant by chaining themselves to coal-carrying conveyor belts.
The group Shut it Down is calling for stronger climate policies from politicians and energy companies at the U.N. climate conference in Copenhagen in December.
