Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Tropical Storm Seventeen will track westward over the Philippines on Sunday and make landfall near Luzon. Expect heavy downpours and dangerous surf in the region with winds between 63 to 117 kph.
Tropical storm conditions will also move over the southern coast of China and southern Vietnam. Hong Kong will see scattered showers with highs in the lower 30s Celsius.
To the north, a low pressure system will continue to develop over central China, triggering scattered showers from Chongqing to Beijing.
To the northeast, moderate to heavy showers will continue to pop up along the coastal regions of the Yellow Sea. A trough of low pressure will slowly move toward the Korean peninsula spreading scattered showers over the region. Shanghai will see decreasing showers with highs near 26, while Seoul will see heavier rainfall with highs in the lower 20s. Further east, high pressure hovering over the Sea of Japan will allow for drier conditions in Japan on Sunday. But light sprinkles may linger over Tokyo with highs remaining in the lower 20s.
Australia will continue to see dry and warm weather as high pressure dominates the weather. A low pressure system to the south will finally pass eastward and out of the region and Sydney will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper teens.
