Lebanese PM-designate tries anew to form Cabinet

The Lebanese prime minister-designate has started a new round of talks with lawmakers in a fresh try to set up a unity government and break a three-month deadlock.
Leader of the Western-backed parliament majority, Saad Hariri, was given a second chance last week by the country's president to form the Cabinet. Hezbollah and its allies stymied his previous effort.
Hariri's coalition won the June parliament elections but failed to secure enough parliament seats to rule alone. Hariri abandoned efforts to create a unity government when Hezbollah rejected his first Cabinet list.
He was then reappointed as premier-designate, since he is favored by most lawmakers.
It's unclear if he'll be more successful in the second go. Hariri began the consultations on Thursday.
