Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Active weather is expected over southern and central China Thursday as onshore flow from the South China Sea pushes moisture over the region. Expect scattered showers to stretch from the border with Laos, well into Fuzhou and Taiwan, and northward into Changsha.
No tropical storm developments are expected over the Western Pacific, but a small trough of low pressure will track southward along the coast of the Yellow Sea bringing moderate to heavy showers to the coast. Shanghai will see scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in mid-20s Celsius. Hong Kong will also continue to see thunderstorm development with highs in the upper 20s.
High pressure will build over northern China as well as the Sea of Japan allowing for mostly sunny skies and dry conditions on Thursday. Beijing will see plenty of sunshine with highs in the upper mid-20s. Expect a few patchy clouds in Seoul and Tokyo with highs also approaching 26.
To the west, humid and wet weather will persist over Indochina with the heaviest storms along the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
In Australia, a low pressure system will pass to the south as high pressure covers most of the country. Expect warm dry weather to persist on Thursday. Sydney will see mostly sunny skies with highs in lower 20s.
