Trial near end in Las Vegas Strip bombing case

Testimony has ended in the trial of two men facing the death penalty in a fatal parking lot bombing outside a Las Vegas Strip hotel in 2007.
Closing arguments are due Thursday before jurors begin deliberating the fate of accused bombmaker Porfirio Duarte-Herrera and a friend identified as Omar Rueda-Denvers.
Both men have pleaded not guilty to charges including murder in the bombing that killed 24-year-old Willebaldo Dorantes Antonio in the parking lot of the Luxor hotel-casino.
Prosecutors allege the 29-year-old Duarte-Herrera built a pipe bomb that killed Dorantes Antonio because the man was dating the 33-year-old Rueda-Denvers's ex-girlfriend.
The jury heard from 13 prosecution witnesses and two defense witnesses, but neither Duarte-Herrera nor Rueda-Denvers testified.
