Artist Romero Britto fined for drunk driving

In a deal with prosecutors, international painter and sculptor Romero Britto has pleaded no contest to driving under the influence of alcohol.
Britto entered his plea Tuesday in Miami-Dade County court and must perform 100 community service hours, pay a $1,000 fine and lose his license for six months.
Once his license is reinstated, he must use an alcohol detection system to start his car for another six months.
The Brazilian artist was arrested in March in Miami Beach. Police said his blood alcohol level was nearly double the legal limit.
Britto's bold and bright sculptures can be found around Miami and have been featured at JFK International Airport and in Hyde Park in London. He owns an art gallery in Miami Beach.
