Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas said he probably shouldn't have played in the club's victory against Portsmouth over the weekend in which he was forced off with a hamstring problem but hopes the injury will not keep him out for long.
The 22-year-old midfielder was ruled out of Wednesday night's Champions League qualifying match against Celtic and remains a doubt for Premier League match against United at Old Trafford.
"I had a problem with my left thigh, groin and hamstring _ it was all on my left leg," Fabregas said. "But now I have the injury to my right hamstring, probably because I was trying to compensate for the injuries on my left side. Perhaps I shouldn't have played on Saturday, and should have rested it. But hopefully it's nothing big."
Fabregas had a scan on his right hamstring earlier this week and manager Arsene Wenger said the scan results were "reassuring."
