Celebrate Moon Festival at The Sherwood Taipei

On the Chinese calendar, we are currently in the 8th month of the lunar year, which brings us into the Moon Festival, a celebration of Chinese tradition and a time for family gatherings. On that special occasion, moon cakes are given by way of celebrating friendship and family reunions.
The moon cake draws its origins from the time of the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty and the plotting of a revolution by the disenchanted Chinese population to overthrow the Mongolian regime. During those days, tight scrutiny was placed on the Chinese, so the only way of communicating this plan was to place a message inside the cakes, which were then delivered to each household. The notes outlined the revolution scheduled for the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar year - a full moon night. This year the day falls on the 3rd of October on the western calendar. In commemoration of this successful revolution, the cake was named "Moon Cake."
We would like to present to you the delicious Moon Cake on the special occasion.
